Recent rains bring relief at Lake St Lucia
Updated | By Lucky Khanyile
iSimangaliso Wetlands Park says the situation at the Lake St Lucia system has improved significantly - with 90% of the surface now covered in water.
Only 10% of surface of the Lake was covered with water in February.
The lake has been hard hit by the ongoing drought in KZN. The Northern sections of the lake have been replenished from direct rainfall and the flow of water from other rivers such as the uMkhuze, uMzinene, Hluhluwe and Nyalazi.
