Ramsgate festival celebrates local artistry
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Art lovers and bookworms are in for a treat this weekend when the annual Ramsgate Book and Art Festival kicks off.

In its third year, the event will showcase the works of both emerging and acclaimed artists and authors.
Event co-founder, Barbie Meyer says the event also boasts of artistry and cuisine uniquely from the south coast.
"It's been run by one person, it's now been taken over by the community in Ramsgate. It's a quirky little village and that's what we're playing on. Instead of all of this being in one venue - we will have pop-up art exhibitions, talks throughout Saturday with authors from as far as Cape Town and Johannesburg," she says.

The youth feature is a new addition to this year's event. Youth poetry readings will be held at the festival - featuring pupils from south coast schools.
There will be no entry fee, but registration prior to the event is mandatory.
