Ramaphosa dodges impeachment as Parliament snubs Phala Phala report

President Cyril Ramaphosa won't have to face an impeachment process over his handling of a burglary at his farm in Limpopo.
Parliament has voted not to adopt a report by a panel of experts, who concluded that he may have violated the Constitution.
National Assembly Speaker Nosivwe Mapisa Nqakula read out the votes on Tuesday.

"Those who have voted yes - 148 and those who have voted no - 214. Abstention - two, and therefore the section 89 inquiry will therefore not be proceeded with."
Minister Nkosaza Dlamini-Zuma, former minister Mosebenzi Zwane and former North West premier Supra Mahumapelo voted to adopt the report.
Minister Lindiwe Sisulu, who has been outspoken against Ramaphosa was not in Parliament to vote, neither was former health minister Zweli Mkhize.

Mkhize is challenging Ramaphosa for the ANC presidency at the elective conference next week.
