Protesting truckers block Van Reenen's Pass

Van Reenen's Pass on the N3 toll was closed to traffic due to trucks obstructing in both directions.

Motorists are advised to delay travel to the area.
The N3 Toll Concession's Thania Dhoogra says police are on the scene.
Officials are diverting motorists off the N3 at the Colenso/Frere interchange.
On Tuesday, truck drivers protesting the employment of foreign nationals blocked off the N3 on both sides between Warden and Villiers in the Free State.
It has vowed to keep it up until its concerns are addressed.

It's not yet clear if this morning's blockade is a continuation of the foundation's protest.
Police say they're working to remove the trucks that are blockading Van Reenen's Pass.
KZN police spokesperson, Jay Naicker says they've been parked on both sides of the busy route.
"The keys of the vehicles are not available as the drivers parked their trucks and fled. Traffic is being diverted to alternative routes. We advise motorists to avoid that area until the road is cleared."
Police and other departments are on scene and attempts are being made to tow the vehicles.
