Port authorities meet over Durban Harbour blockade
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Management at Transnet Port Terminals and truckers are locked in meetings, following a truck protest at the Durban Port this morning.
Several truck drivers and operators used their vehicles to block parts of Bayhead and Langeberg roads - restricting access into and out of the Durban Container Terminal.
They say they experience regular delays at the terminal.
Transnet says while waterside operations have not been affected - the blockade could affect the receiving of export containers - which could have a knock-on effect on other operations.

Traffic officials say some of the heavy goods vehicles have since been moved - but there is still a backlog of traffic in the back-of-port area.
