Police investigate cause of fire at UKZN cafeteria
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Police are investigating the cause of a fire at a cafeteria on the University of KwaZulu-Natal's Howard College Campus in Durban last night.
Officers say it's unclear what sparked the blaze - saying there had been no visible protests on scene.
Some students have taken to social media to share images of the fire - claiming it could be linked to protests earlier in the day.
The academic programme at some of the university's campuses has been suspended for the past two weeks following protests over a possible increase in tuition fees for 2017, financial aid for needy students and the state of residences.
Management has issued a warning to students - saying those who further disrupt lectures will face arrest.
No injuries have been reported.
