Police confronting criminals can't let their guard down says expert
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
The police cannot afford to be less confrontational when dealing with brazen criminals.

Nine suspects were gunned down in several locations including Empangeni and Inanda.

Crime analyst Mike Bolhuis says criminals who have become more skilled and dangerous over the years should not be underestimated in their ability to kill.
"It is on the increase, it's the year of the gun. The situation between authorities and criminals is getting bigger, more dangerous, more sophisticated, and more violent. It will not become less because if the police actually become less confrontational, we will have more crime," said Bolhuis.
