KwaZulu-Natal Social Development MEC Nonhlanhla Khoza says the community of Pietermaritzburg has been left living in fear following the killing of four family members.

It's understood the family was asleep when the assailants forced their way inside the house in Imbali, Unit 14, last week.
They opened fire, killing the parents and their two daughters.
The couple's son is said to have then taken his life.

MEC Nonhlanhla Khoza visited relatives on Thursday.
"In the Hlela family, we found that an eight-year-old who witnessed the killings is so traumatised. We have made plans to relocate her to a home where she can stay as a kid and enjoy her childhood.
"But she is still traumatised so we will work with the family to establish what else can be done, but we found that within the family, the father has been the only breadwinner. It's just sad."
Umgungundlovu District Municipality Mayor Mzi Zuma says there have been many similar incidents in the area.

"In at least four incidents before this one, two affecting two separate Mchunu families, one Mahlaba family and one Khuboni family where five family members were gunned down, and they haven't even buried those family members because there are some investigation and processes going on."
Police say the hunt is still on for the killers.
