Updated | By Newswatch
Dignitaries from across the country gathered at the official memorial service at the Khethomthandayo Royal Palace in Nongoma, to pay respects to the late Zulu monarch, King Goodwill Zwelithini.
Among the mourners were President Cyril Ramaphosa, former President Jacob Zuma, Princess Charlene of Monaco and KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala.
Tributes poured in for Isilo Samabandla who passed away last week. Ramaphosa who delivered the eulogy said, “He will be remembered for being the staunchest defender of his people. He not only defended and advanced the interest of the Zulu people, but advanced their culture, customs, traditions and a deep sense of identity and nationhood.”
While KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala says the King conquered fighting and instability in KZN by using the most powerful weapon...love and unity.
