Phoenix triple murder: More arrests expected
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
More arrests are expected in connection with the murder of Jane Govindsamy and her two daughters, Denisha and Nikita, last week.
They were found dead in their Phoenix home on Friday. A 45-year-old man - who is known to the family has been arrested and charged with three counts of murder. Police Minister Bheki Cele visited the community yesterday.
While he did not divulge many details, the minister did say the story behind the crime was awkward and that he believed more than one person was responsible.
"I've listened to the story of what happened and it is an awkward story. I hope we will be able to unpack it and find out what really happened. As you know someone is already in police custody and I believe it will not just be one suspect", he said.
Cele also revealed that the women's killer - or killers - likely laid in wait for them and killed them one by one, over the course of Thursday afternoon.
"I am told the suspect was at the home of the victims till almost 8pm. He attacked the first woman, waited for the next one - pounced on her and the third and pounced on her too", Cele said.
