Gcaleka spoke during a media briefing in Pretoria on Friday.

She gave an assurance that the investigation team is making "good progress".

"I want to take the country into confidence regarding the Phala Phala investigation. The investigation, which is the newest investigation on our roll, is now approaching four months and it is one of the several EMEA investigations that are active in the system, some of which exceed 40 months.

"We call on the public to rest assured that we have covered a lot of ground and we are receiving cooperation from everyone involved, I am advised by the investigation team that we already have accumulated information that has filled seven arch lever files."

Gcaleka said they will leave no stoned unturned and wants to be fair to the parties and conduct the investigation within the bounds of the Constitution and the law.

"This team is working around the clock to ensure the finalisation of this matter within a reasonable time and yet produce a report that will stand the test of scrutiny.

"For instance, the state capture investigation took seven months, plus four years at the Zondo Commission of Inquiry to complete. Further, the Nkandla investigation took more than two years whereas the Bosasa/CR17 matter took eight months."

In June, former spy boss Arthur Fraser opened a criminal complaint against Ramaphosa, accusing him of kidnapping, bribery, money laundering, and 'concealing a crime' following the theft of a large amount of foreign currency from his private property two years ago.
