Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Police are investigating after a newborn baby was found alive and abandoned in a rubbish bin in a building in central Durban.

Paramedics were called to the Commercial Towers Building this morning - after the little boy was found wrapped in two plastic bags in a toilet.
Netcare 911's Chris Botha says they worked frantically to treat the baby - who had been deprived of oxygen - before taking him to hospital.
