Over 800 SA firefighters sent to tackle Canada wildfires

Firefighters from South Africa have been battling Canada's wildfires for about a month.

A fourth team comprising over 200 emergency officials and 15 managers flew out to British Colombia - where a state of emergency had been declared.
Thirty-eight of them are from KZN.

The warning in BC is set to remain in place until Friday.
Linton Rensburg from Working on Fire says more teams will be deployed to Canada to assist firefighting personnel battling the country's worst fire season on record.
"This will bring in a total 865 firefighters from Working on Fire who have been deployed to Canada since the beginning of June. In total 159 firefighters from KZN were also deployed to these fires."
