Over 340 000 people - aged 60 and over - have registered for phase 2 of the country's vaccination campaign.
That rollout's due to begin on the 17th of May.
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says he's pleased that Gauteng, the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape are in the process of fulfilling the requirements ahead of this crucial step.

He's embarked on a nationwide tour to assess the country's readiness for the next mass vaccination programme.
Earlier this month, the Minister said the country had secured additional shots from Pfizer and that under two million will arrive in May.
On Monday, health products regulator - Sahpra - gave government the go-ahead to resume the Johnson & Johnson vaccine rollout but said screening and monitoring should be intensified, especially for people more likely to get blood clots.
