Umngeni Water says one of the two transformers that blew after being struck by lightning is up and running.

damaged during Wednesday night's storm.
Umgeni Water spokesperson Shami Harichunder says the Inanda Dam transformer was returned to operation on Thursday afternoon.

"So, production on the conveyance of water from Inanda Dam to Durban Heights has begun. Already we are back to the levels we have before the lightning strike.
“As far as Nagle Dam is concerned, Eskom is still working on that problem. So in the meantime, the supply of raw water from Nagle remains compromised at this stage."
