No clarity on SA’s hosting of BRICS summit

It's still unclear whether the upcoming 15th BRICS summit will be hosted in South Africa.
There've been suggestions it could be moved to China so that the government doesn't have to face the matter of the arrest warrant for Russian president Vladimir Putin.
He's wanted by the International Criminal Court which accuses him of war crimes in Ukraine.

President Cyril Ramaphosa briefed Chinese President Xi Jinping on various issues, including the peace mission to Ukraine and Russia by African leaders on Friday.
On the BRICS summit, the Presidency has only said both leaders are committed to working towards a successful gathering.
