Newlands West school teacher allegedly beaten by pupil

KZN Police are investigating a case of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm after a female teacher was attacked, allegedly by a pupil at New West Secondary School in Newlands West.

Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says the 47-year-old woman says she was punched in the classroom, on Thursday.
Zwane says the matter is under investigation and that no arrests have been made.
Meanwhile, KZN Education says a tribunal will be established to find out what happened.
Spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi says officials have been sent to the school.
