New bridges will give kids safe access to schools in KZN
Updated | By Andrew Robertson
Three recently unveiled bridges are
set to bring some relief to pupils living in the Ekhamanzi area, just outside
Greytown.

The development of the bridges is part of the national Department of Public Works and Infrastructure's Welisizwe Rural Bridges Programme - which aims to bring safe access to schools and clinics.
Newly appointed KZN MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Peggy Nkonyeni says they are committing to build more bridges in underprivileged communities.
“Our people are suffering. We strongly believe that building bridges like this will also decrease the level of illiteracy in the province of KZN,” Nkonyeni said.
We have participated with the National Department of Public Works and the SANDF. We are committing to support them with resources,” she added.
