Nelson Mandela funeral trial postponed
Updated | By Algoa FM
A planned power outage in Buffalo City has brought a premature end to day one of the Mandela funeral funds scandal trial.
ANC Amatole Regional chairperson Phumlani Mkolo, former Buffalo City Speaker Luleka Simon-Ndzele, and former Mayor Zukiswa Ncitha are among the accused.
They have all pleaded not guilty to misappropriating municipal funds meant to pay for the transport and other matters related to the funeral of the former president.

The Bhisho High Court has postponed the matter to Tuesday.
"As the State, we are ready to lead our first oral evidence from the first witness tomorrow actually, we have two witnesses lined up for tomorrow," says National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Luxolo Tyali.
"So if anything it doesn't happen like today, then we can expect the trial to proceed unless a new application is brought by the accused people that can delay the beginning of the trial."
