Muthambi under fire at SABC inquiry
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Communications Minister Faith Muthambi has come under fire at the Parliamentary ad hoc committee probing the affairs of the SABC.
The EFF's Fana Mokoena accused Muthambi of trying to side-line the President and Parliament, by centralizing power around her office.
"She ran a SABC that got weakened to a point where there was literally one member, and nothing happened," says Mokoena.
MP's also heard that former SABC board chairperson Ellen Tshabalala failed to submit the names of politicians from political parties who were allegedly interfering in the affairs of the public broadcaster.
The ANC's Makhosi Khoza says she now needs to send the correspondence in the form of an affidavit.
"As this committee, we have to be vigilant. We can't take something from her which is not in affidavit form. She must reduce that into affidavit form if she stands to explain what she is doing," says Khoza.
