Murder case opened after three men set alight in Tongaat

KwaZulu-Natal police are investigating after three men were assaulted and burnt alive - allegedly by angry community members in Tongaat, north of Durban.
Officers responded to the call-out in Greylands Road last night.

Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says the victims were assaulted before they were doused with petrol and set alight.
"Last night, at 7pm, the community members from Tongaat gathered and assaulted the men. Three counts of murder were opened at the Tongaat Police Station," Gwala said.

Officers also found an unlicensed firearm on one of the victims.
