Multiple injured in Berea explosion, fire

Multiple people have been injured
in a fire said to have been caused by an explosion on the Berea.

Emergency services were called to a home on Alan Paton Road on Thursday morning.
"Paramedics arrived on scene to find five people had sustained various injuries ranging from moderate to critical as a result of burn wounds," said Garrith Jamieson, who's with ALS Paramedics.

"Paramedics worked to stabilise them on the scene before three of them were transported to nearby hospitals for the urgent care that they required.
"At this stage, it is believed that the men were conducting a fumigation in the residence when a fire occurred. SAPS and the eThekwini Fire Department were in attendance and will be investigating further."
