Multimillion-rand housing project for KwaMaphumulo community
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
KwaZulu-Natal's Human Settlement MEC Jomo Sibiya believes rural development is key to help mitigate the migration to big cities.
The department is facilitating a multimillion-rand housing project to build 1 500 homes in KwaMaphumulo, north of Durban.
Sibiya says this project has also helped formally employ a number of young people in the community to help them gain skills.
Sibiya handed over some of the completed houses on Tuesday.
He said the project and budget are moving according to plan.
