More whales migrating along KZN coast: Sharks Board
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
People can expect to see or hear about more whales beaching along KZN's shores more often as populations off the coast are increasing.
The KZN Sharks Board's Mike Anderson-Reade has been speaking to Newswatch as efforts to remove a 15-metre adult humpback whale carcass from Umhlanga beach continue.
Hundreds of people have been flocking to the popular beach to witness efforts to remove the massive carcass from the shoreline between the iconic lighthouse and pier. Strong winds and rough seas have kept crews on their toes this week.
The carcass was initially spotted in the surf off Umdloti on Sunday. It washed up on a beach north of the Umhlanga lagoon on Monday.

Tides then pulled it back into the water - dumping it on Umhlanga main beach - right in front of two of the city's most well-known hotels yesterday.
