More arrests possible in KZN cannibalism case
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KZN police say they're working with community members to track down others linked to cannibalism in the uThukela District Municipality.
The case against seven suspects was postponed yesterday in the Estcourt Magistrates Court for a possible bail application.
They're accused of killing 25-year-old Zanele Hlatswayo. It's also believed they had engaged in cannibalism.
Mayor of the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality, Jabu Mbhele says they are relying on the police report.
"We are depending on what the police report is saying. The allegations will remain allegations until it's proven that it is the reality," she says.

Meanwhile Mthembeni Majola, a councillor in Estcourt, says Hlatswayo's identification as one of the victims has brought some closure to her family. He says they're still waiting to bury her.
"I was very concerned about this. I know how it feels to lose a member of your family. In this way, the body parts are missing. I've never experienced that before," he says.
