KZN's top cop has warned emerging business owners to think twice before offering bribes for political favours.

“Be it the mayor, councillor, those who are decision makers also get bribed by yourselves, because you want to make money, you want get business. You are contributing to crime and advocating them to do you a favour."
Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi addressed a conference at the two-day Umyezane Summit, Conference and Awards on issues affecting small businesses at the Durban ICC on Monday.

The commissioner urged young people, looking to enter the liquor market, to consider its social impact.
“You might say it's not your problem. They buy, they go away and what results to that is a rape of a partner at home, what results in that, is a woman that gets raped on route between a drinking spot and home because she became vulnerable on the way home. So we want to plea with everyone that pay attention on those type of crimes because they're affecting us.”
