Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Government says it is now integrating the use of groundwater to help alleviate the country's water crisis.
Water and Sanitation Minister, Nomvula Mokonyane says they're implementing alternative solutions to use groundwater thanks to a partnership network with the private sector and research institutions.
Mokonyane has been addressing delegates at a World Water Day Summit taking place at the Durban ICC.

The event wraps up in the city tomorrow.
The Minister says best practices when it comes to using groundwater can be found right here in KZN.
"Looking at the private sector - we have ABI, Coca Cola and South African Breweries. Their plants throughout the world, including British American Tobacco, are not doing what they're doing in South Africa. They are reusing the water, and promoting rain water harvesting," she said.
