Mining minister to visit the Lily Mine today
Updated | By Maryke Vermaak
A high level delegation of visitors are set to visit the Lily Mine outside Baberton today, to receive a progress report on the rescue operation.
Three workers are still unaccounted for after a collapse at the mine last week Friday. Its a hive of activity at the mine this morning as everyone prepares for mining minister Mosebenzi Zwane and Premier David Mabuza's arrival. it is day nine of the search and rescue effort and the operations has been frustrated by challenges. Large boulders have slowed down the ground removal efforts and communication believed to be from someone underground has ceased. Management maintain that this is still a rescue and not a recovery mission.
