"There are a lot of unused buildings and a lot of money being wasted on rent when we have buildings available. It is having to sit down and sort out exactly where our challenges lie."

Meyer was sworn in Pietermaritzburg on Tuesday after his party, the DA, committed to the formation of a government of provincial unity to lead KZN.

He has vowed to work with residents to address challenges and develop solutions.
