#MandelaDay: DA, ANC youth roll up their sleeves
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen
The ANC Youth League in KZN is visiting public hospitals in Durban today to commemorate Mandela Day.
The league says it chose to spend its 67 minutes assessing the treatment of patients at state facilities.
This after the province's healthcare system came under scrutiny, following a damning report by the SA Human Rights Commission on the KZN oncology crisis.

The league's Mandla Shange says they will be keeping an eye at the facilities' conditions.
"The purpose is that we want to spend 67 minutes celebrating the life of Madiba with patience. We see and examine the conditions that they're [being treated] under in public hospitals," he said.
Meanwhile, the DA Youth is painting pre-schools in Umzinto on the south coast.
The party's Swelakhe Shelembe says they're also lending a hand to the cause.
"We feel if we are doing community service, we will be paying a huge role in terms of assisting those people who are coming from outlying areas - who don't receive funding and support from government," he said.
Newswatch has been speaking to listeners about the importance of the day for them. Listen below.
