Man shot dead in Waterfall attack

Durban police are trying to establish the motive behind a shooting at a house in the KwaNgcolosi area near Waterfall, north west of Durban that claimed the life of a man.

Emergency services responded to the scene after receiving calls from neighbours last night.
Netcare911's Shawn Herbst says the man, believed to be in his 50s, was declared dead at the scene.

"Reports from the scene indicate that the man had been shot twice in the head and he was found to have no signs of life. The wife of the deceased also sustained a gunshot wound to her upper arm," he said.
Herbst says the woman was taken to hospital for further medical attention.

He says there was a heavy police presence when medics arrived at the scene.
Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele confirmed the shooting.
She says Hillcrest SAPS is investigating charges of murder and attempted murder.
