Man killed after car ploughs into pool at Westville home

A man has lost his life after his car plunged into a swimming pool at a home in Westville.
Reports from the scene are that the residents found the vehicle lying on its roof and submerged after 6am on Wednesday.
Redline Response's Derrick Banks says medics were called to the property along Baden Road.

"Paramedics arrived on scene and they found the vehicle submerged under water. At the time, it was unclear if there was anybody still inside the vehicle as there was no accessibility to get in.
"Metro police search and rescue along with SAPS were called to the scene to help assist. It is now believed the male believed to be in his early 40s succumbed to his injures as he was found in the vehicle."
The circumstances surrounding the crash will be investigated.
