Malema served with summons over land grab calls
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Julius Malema is being taken to court on the accusation he is encouraging illegal land grabs.
The EFF president was issued with a summons shortly after his press briefing earlier today.
He is being charged under the Riotous Assemblies Act for two incidents that took place in Bloemfontein in 2014, and in Newcastle this year.

Malema is said to have encouraged EFF supporters at both gatherings to commit a crime by telling them to illegally occupy vacant land.

Malema indicated to the media during that briefing in Braamfontein that he was aware officers were waiting for him.
"Police are here, I didn't know that, but they say the summons is for the crime committed in 2014 at UFS - I addressed something, I don't know, I will hear. This is what the state does when it is desperate. All those who are seen to be opponents; all those who are seen to be an alternative voice; they must be suppressed. But with me they've met their match. I'm not scared of anything! So I will receive those summons and I will hear what they're saying," he said.

The charges against Malema follow fraud charges that were laid against Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan by the NPA on Tuesday.
It also comes on the back of news that the Presidency has served Public Protector Advocate Thuli Madonsela with a notice of intention to interdict her from
releasing her report into state capture.Show's Stories
