Land borders re-open as COVID-19 infection rate drops
Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
Traffic is expected to pick up at the country’s land borders.
Twenty crossings are reopening this morning after being shut last month in a bid to control COVID-19 infections.
The Home Affairs Ministry spokesperson Siya Qoza says Minister Aaron Motsoaledi will be visiting one of the border posts.

"The borders are reopening after the cabinet approved that they should reopen. Following that decision, the minister is now leading the deployment of senior managers in the department to key land border posts."
Qoza says the team will monitor the plans and to make sure they are being implemented.
