KZN Transport launches festive road safety initiative
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport's road safety campaigns have kicked off ahead of the festive season.

The department has been hosting programmes at hotspot areas across the province since October.
Issues such as poor infrastructure, road markings and signs and public transport have been identified as focus areas.
Thousands of people flock to the province for the end-of-year break - leading to busier than usual road networks.
Transport Portfolio Committee Chairperson in KZN, Ntombikayise Sibhidla-Saphetha says they will be examining the roadworthiness of vehicles.
"We are also checking if the drivers are qualified and we are checking people coming into our province illegally to ensure we reduce road accidents in the province. This especially moving towards the festive season."
