KZN rugby club remembers Lindani Myeni as 'humble and kind'

A local rugby club says it's been left heartbroken and shocked following the sudden death of former player Lindani Myeni.
Members of the Jaguars have asked that the body of the 29-year-old father from Richards Bay, be repatriated to South Africa.
Myeni, who moved to the US with his American wife several years ago, was killed by police in Hawaii.
They were responding to a call about a burglary in Honolulu last week.

A senior police official said the father-of-two was shot multiple times after an officer told him to comply and lie on the ground.
But an attorney representing the family has told the SABC that Myeni had been treated aggressively and disrespectfully from the very beginning.
He wants the 911 tapes and additional police bodycam footage to be handed over.
One video containing disturbing scenes was released on Saturday.
Chairperson of the Jaguars, Onwhinne Hindley, says Myeni was humble and kind.

"To us, it's a point-blank killing. They could have arrested him and stopped him and not kill him. It's just a shocker. We just pray that the investigating officers do their jobs properly and get to the bottom of it. His body needs to come to South Africa and get buried."
