KZN Health to intensify local family planning initiatives
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
KwaZulu-Natal Heath MEC, Sibongiseni Dhlomo, says the department is looking to strengthen its family planning programmes.

It follows yesterday's rescue of a newborn baby girl who was found trapped in a storm water pipe in Newlands East.
Emergency workers worked for three hours in the morning - to rescue the infant, who was located seven-metres down the pipe.
Community members, who'd rallied at the rescue site yesterday, cheered as the baby was brought to the surface.
She was airlifted to Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital where she was treated for mild hypothermia. Trauma and paediatric specialists say her survival was nothing short of a miracle.
The MEC visited her in hospital yesterday afternoon.
"This little one is as a result of an unplanned, unwanted pregnancy - resulting in a mother deciding to go and throw this baby in a storm water drain. We are going to strengthen our campaigns in family planning in this community and in other communities as well," Dhlomo said.
