KZN Education will be assisting schools to make up for lost time
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
KwaZulu-Natal Education says it will ensure catch-up programmes are implemented to make up for lost classroom time yesterday.

Some principals decided to close their doors due to the severe weather conditions.
Education's Muzi Mahlambi says the principals adopted a safety first approach, instead of expecting pupils and staff to walk or commute to school in dangerous conditions.

He says communities must take all warnings from authorities seriously.
"Losing one day of the schooling programme is better than losing the lives of our learners. We want all our learners to be safe. We are saying schools must adopt a safety first principle," said Mahlambi.
"We will then see as the week goes by and when the weather becomes better, we will deal with catch-up programmes," he said.
