The monarch was speaking at the one year memorial prayer service for his late parents at KwaKhangelamankengane Royal Palace in Nongoma on Saturday.

The late King Goodwill Zwelithini ka Bhekuzulu and Queen Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu both died last year.

The two royal factions went ahead with their different prayers.

Another memorial prayer took place at the KwaKhethomthandayo Royal Palace to also commemorate passing of the late King.

That memorial was led by Prince Mbonisi Zulu, Prince Thokozani Zulu and Princess Thembi Zulu-Ndlovu which kicked off early in the morning.

Addressing the royal masses and Zulu nation, King Misuzulu said this weekend has been an emotional time for them.

“I had the opportunity to go see where my father drew his last breath on Friday. But it also brought much pain to remember that I could not be part of cultural practises that took place, due to the Zulu traditions usiko I had to follow at the time.

“But I would like to inform the Zulu nation that this day will forever be commemorated from this day forth. We are grateful for your unwavering support but let us not forget the wealth of wisdom the late Isilo left us with, unity, respect and to be in the same accord.“
