Updated | By Steve Bhengu
King Misuzulu has broken his silence over the spate of killings of traditional leaders.
Just this month, three were murdered in KZN, continuing the spree from last year.
David Mkhize, one of the king’s staunch backers and leader of the regiments from Umbumbulu was shot and killed last week Monday.
The King also lost one of his closest advisers, Dr Dumisani Khumalo, who was gunned down last year after attending the reed dance.
Speaking during the official opening of the KZN Legislature in Pietermaritzburg ton Thursday, King Misuzulu said the spilling of blood must stop.
"I am appealing to everyone to honour ubuntu and kill no one. Killing is inhumane and is barbaric.
"We do not need police or court interventions to adhere our basic humanity. We have become too materialistic and too individualistic."
Among other issues he’s addressing the Zulu King urges government and traditional leaders to play an exemplary role when carrying out their duties. @SteveBhengu pic.twitter.com/k6t5306tMj
