iLembe still probing cause of explosion at Sundumbili Water Works

The iLembe Municipality says they are still in the dark about what caused a transformer explosion at the Sundumbili Water Works on Sunday.

It burned a portion of the clear water pump station.
Contractors went out on Monday to assess the damage.

The municipality's Xolelwa Mazibuko says they are yet to determine what caused the explosion.
"We are basically working on ensuring that we reinstate supply. At the moment, we have areas that are high-lying that have already started complaining in terms of water pressure. Some have no water at all.
"However, we are actually working now on ensuring that there are water tankers that will fetch water to arrears like Maphumulo."
