Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KZN Health authorities say they've sent a team of senior officials to the Netcare Kingsway Hospital in Amanzimtoti, after workers and patients were exposed to the coronavirus.

The hospital confirmed earlier that a patient who was admitted to the hospital for a suspected stroke tested positive for COVID-19 a week ago.
Management says since then, they have been conducting mass testing of all patients and healthcare workers who came into contact with the patient.

Provincial Health spokesperson, Noluthando Nkosi says the team will establish exactly what has happened and how the hospital is managing the situation.
"We will continue to closely monitor the situation and expect consequence management if any negligence is found on the part of any individual."
The hospital has stopped taking new admissions.
