On Sunday, the Health Minister ordered South Africans to stop eating all processed ready-to-eat meat products after the source of the outbreak was traced to an Enterprise polony factory in Polokwane.
Consumers can return their products for a full refund from Checkers, Pick n Pay, Food Lover’s Market and Freshstop stores.
KZN Health MEC, Sibongiseni Dhlomo is urging people to put their health and that of their family's first and remove all chilled processed meat products from their fridges.
"These new developments must be taken seriously. Let us restrain from consuming uncooked meat, especially polony, viennas and the like," Dhlomo said.
