More details emerged on Thursday about the shootout in Durban's Glenwood suburb that left two suspected criminals wounded.

A gang was confronted on the corner of Rick Turner Road and Queen Mary Avenue on Wednesday.
Police have now revealed that the group had robbed an Umbilo bottle store minutes before, making off with an undisclosed amount of money, as well as liquor and cigarettes.
KZN SAPS's Robert Netshiunda says the suspects were later spotted driving on Stellawood Road.

"A high-speed chase ensued, and the occupants of the suspects’ vehicle started shooting at the police, leaving the police with no other option but to return fire.
"Police managed to overpower the suspects and arrested three of them. Two suspects had sustained minor gunshot wounds. No police officer was injured"
Netshiunda says three suspects have been arrested, while two are at large.
He says officers have confiscated four unlicensed firearms and ammunition while some of the stolen items have also been recovered.
