Family of missing Chatsworth man pleads for his safe return
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
It's been two weeks and there's still no trace of a Chatsworth man who's been reported missing.
Darren Sumashan Naicker of Bayview was last seen when he was on his way to catch an e-hailing ride to work in Umhlanga.
His brother Mervyn Naicker says he spoke to the 35-year-old Sumashan on the day he went missing, who told him he would be home soon.
He says since then, his phone has been off.
"Where ever he is, he needs to get in contact with us. If he is with somebody and he has any issues, get in contact with us and we can see how best we can assist. But all we want is for his safe return back home."
Mervyn says the family is very distraught.
“We are just humbly appealing to the public and anybody that has information or even the people that [have] him. The family requests to send him back home because his health condition is not too good. He suffers a lot with his chest and he doesn’t have his medication with him."
Bayview police are investigating and say Sumashan was wearing a black and red striped shirt.
Anyone with information can contact the investigating officer, Detective Captain Naidoo, on 082 411 6387 or 031405 7211.
