A woman whose 58-year-old mother and five-year-old daughter were among those killed in the Matimatolo massacre wants to know what her relatives did to be killed in such a brutal manner.
Thandeka Sibiya was at work when her family was shot on Tuesday night in the village near Greytown.
Their two homes were also set alight.
Eight of her relatives died as a result of the attack.
Sibiya says she is hoping for arrests soon.
"We want to know who is behind this so that we can have some kind of an idea as to what happened and have the culprits arrested. We need police to help us. Our hearts are heavy, we do not know what to do. We put our trust in the police," she said.
Earlier today, police confirmed that five members of another KwaZulu-Natal family were shot and killed in their home in Mariannhill, outside Pinetown last night, making it the second such attack this week.

The motives for the two attacks have not yet been established.
