eThekwini says electricity will be restored to parts of Durban affected by power outages later today.
Residents and businesses in Durban North, parts of the Berea and the CBD have not had lights as a result of a fault at the Durban North substation.
The municipality's Tozi Mthethwa says technicians are working to restore electricity to all the affected areas.
The cause of the fault is still being investigated, but the substation apparently experienced a trip.
Mthethwa is urging the public to be patient.
