Eswatini court postpones case against AKA murder-accused
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The extradition case against two brothers arrested in connection to the murders of rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and his friend Tebello Motsoane has been postponed.
Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande briefly appeared in the Manzini Magistrate's Court in Eswatini on Tuesday.
The court heard the extradition application documents have not yet arrived in the kingdom.
Justice Department spokesperson Crispin Phiri explains that a request must be brought within 30 days of an individual's detention.
"According to our calculations, 30 days expire by 22 March, so by then, South Africa's extradition application will have to be with the Eswatini authorities for it to be properly entertained."

Phiri adds it's a protracted process.
"The National Prosecuting Authority is responsible for compiling and extracting applications. They would then follow the law that is applicable both in the country concerned and following the SADC laws.
"We then submit it to the minister of justice, who would ensure that all the required documents are in place. He or she would then forward to the minister of international relations, who would forward to their counterpart."
The accused are due back in court next Wednesday.
