Elderly woman rushed to hospital after dog attack

An elderly Richards Bay woman's been left in a serious condition, in hospital, after she was mauled by her pet dogs.

What sparked the attack by the two dogs is not exactly clear.
Medics initially treated the 82-year-old woman inside her Meerensee home yesterday afternoon.
Netcare 911's Shawn Herbst says she suffered traumatic injuries to her head and upper body.

She was treated on scene by an advanced life support paramedic and once stabilised was transported in a serious condition to hospital for further care. She was alone at the time and was found by her son.
The animals were taken to the SPCA.
