Elderly man drowns at Sheffield Beach

An elderly man has drowned on the Dolphin Coast.
IPSS Medical Rescue says the 76-year-old man was brought to the shore by other beachgoers at Sheffield Beach on Thursday afternoon.
The service says paramedics assessed him and declared dead.
"Upon arrival of paramedics, it was established that a person had drowned at sea and had been brought to shore.
"Advanced life support paramedics assessed the patient and unfortunately, he showed no sign of life and was declared deceased."
It’s understood the man had gone for a walk.
"Family members of the deceased arrived on the scene, as they had been out looking for him after he did not return home after a walk."
